Controlling an Application's Output

PrintChef
Control Dialog

Applications Tab

This tab is used to control the output pages sent by the application to the printer. You can replicate the output pages from the application-- this is great when you need 2 copies of each label from a database.
You can even specify the order that labels print, and then start printing on any label-- this is great when you want to print partial label sheets.

You can also manage PostScript fonts or the creation of PostScript definitions by PrintChef printing styles.

Summary
  • Preview everything you print-- whether or not it includes PrintChef effects. This option is available on all tabs, in re:Print, in the PrintChef Designer, and in the Print Summary dialog,
  • Status line and item Help is available for all dialogs and error alerts. PrintChef even incorporates sophisticated "troubleshooting" into error alerts, so you can get back to work quickly.
  • The replication count replicates each page to create multiple labels, or repeated miniature layouts.
  • You can specify the starting page within a multi-up-- start on the fifth label in a sheet of 30 labels (ideal for using up those partial label sheets).
  • Ensure all your PostScript fonts are properly downloaded with every print job.

Control without effort...
  • Works with every application. This tab is always named after the application that is printing... just to remind you.
  • For labels, you can specify the starting label and then refeed partial sheets to the printer.
  • Specify a replication count, and watch as PrintChef creates multiple labels from a single database record.
