PrintChef's Tiling Helper Plug-in

PrintChef is an extensible program, and the Tiling Helper is a plug-in that extends PrintChef. The tiling helper presents you with a dialog that easily allows you to create tiled or banner prints.

The Tiling Helper sports dividers that can be slid using the mouse to specify the breaks in the tiled image. You can also specify the order that the tiles will print and then add cut marks to the output to give you that perfect match up from one tile to the next.

Even better, unlike other tiling programs, the Tiling Helper has capability of creating unequal tiles, so that you can make sure that a nasty cut mark will not appear in the wrong place in an image. The Tiling Helper can also remove bounding edges, allowing you to crop the image to the essentials you want.

Finally, Tiling Helper allows you to specify the overlap in the tiles, so that there is plenty of room for cutting variations to encompass the image.

Because the Tiling Helper is a PrintChef or PrintChef Pro plug-in, you may wonder how it is able to create tiled effects. The answer is simple, the Tiling Helper gives you a simple-to-use layout process that results in the creation of normal PrintChef (import) objects.

These Import objects are laid out and clipped accordingly on the different papers that will become the tiles, and each tile appropriately shifts the input image to create the proper piece of the overall tile or banner image.
